Brain Book

Nervoussystem
The Central Nervous System is a nonfiction book on the brain and the accompanying nervous system. Written 12 years ago, it is part of a series on the body published by Enslow Publishers.

As the reading audience for this tome were primary school students, writing the book presented the challenge of crafting text about an incredibly complex subject at a level comprehensible to a fifth grader. To fully appreciate my task, go to Wikipedia or a medical website and read about the hippocampus, then sit down with a fourth grader and explain its role and functions to him or her.

In 2012, nearly ten years after the first round of books were published, Enslow Publishers republished The Central Nervous System and the other books in that series due to their popularity. Copies of this book are available on Amazon and may be available through Enslow Publishers.
